Preserving Woodhills

In 1913 Pioneering journalist Fremont Older and his wife Cora built a unique home called Woodhills in what was then rural Santa Clara County, California. In 1977 the Mid Peninsula Regional Open Space District purchased Woodhills to preserve the land as a public open space. In 1979 Mort and Elaine Levine saved the home from demolition and began the long process of restoring it. The residence is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
